Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor and received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. She decided to pursue her counseling degree in part because she has worked with children and adolescents since she herself was a teenager. The progression into professional counseling was a natural one for her, as she had been mentoring and counseling adolescents for almost a decade before her graduate training even began.

Upon completion of her degree she gained further training in group counseling, family therapy, career counseling, narrative therapy and addictions. She has also worked as a Case Manager with homeless young moms helping them navigate the complexities of life as single moms; working on parenting skills, resume building, and other life skills. Today, at The Art of Living Counseling Center, Melissa works with children, adolescents and adults in individual, family and group counseling.

Melissa and her husband Craig are the parents to two beautiful and spirited girls. They are daily reminders of how rewarding and challenging parenting can be! As a family they enjoy weekend trips, watching movies and spending time outdoors hanging out with family and friends.

Melissa loves people. And she loves working with individuals and families as they navigate life and the inevitable challenges that life brings their way. Feel free to contact her through the link on our website to answer any questions you may have and start the counseling process.

Kristin is completing her Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling through Capella University and will graduate in December 2018. Previously, she graduated in 1997 with a Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders, and has worked for over 17 years as a pediatric speech-language pathologist. These experiences, as well as those Kristin gained through her previous work as a pastor, through personal counseling, and spiritual direction have inspired her passion for working with others and helping them discover the resilience of the human spirit.

As a part of The Art of Living Counseling Center, Kristin’s goal is to serve others and to help them experience the life change and growth that can come from personal counseling. She looks forward to working with individuals, couples, families, and is especially passionate about counseling groups.

Kristin loves time at home with her husband and two young children. She enjoys time spent with friends and doing outdoor activities. She is also an active volunteer at her children’s elementary school.
